If you are brave, you can jump from the newly opened 625-meter-high (~2051 feet) Huajiang Canyon Bridge spanning over the Beipan River (China). However, a jump will cost you about 2999 RMB (~$420).

I do not trust the safety standards in China enough to swing on a 5 foot rope let alone this.

I’m pretty sure you can jump from any bridge, for free. It’s the rope that costs you.

    3. Is it me or does it look like they are headed straight for the power lines right before the video ends.

I am sure they are too high and will miss them but it looks like they won’t.

Has anybody else noticed that pretty much every video about China is heavily downvoted no matter what the subject matter is?

Smart to have a release system that doesn’t require jumping. If you’ve ever been bungee jumping you know that a substantial amount of time is wasted by people who are too afraid to jump, or just take a long time hyping themselves up.

I think gathering the nerve is part of the fun so maybe a small ding to the experience, but much more efficient this way. “Oh, you changed your mind and want to think about it some more? Well, you’re already suspended over the gap and I’m the one with this button here, so…BYEEE!”

I wonder what it feels like, I got vertigo from a youtube video the other day, I can’t imagine the rush of adrenaline when doing something like this.
